The worst thing about being an Independent Contractor is…its freedom…to waste time!
Years ago we had a trainer who was a very good salesperson. He kept track of his C-B-P-S-V (Calls-Buyers-Pitches-Sales-Volume) religiously each day and totaled them at the end of the week and logged these on his yearly record. He could look at the entire year and see how he did each week. One day he called me to share an observation that he had made when looking at his numbers. Now before I share his observation, I must tell you he was one of our top trainers and very smart. Now for his revelation! He had observed, that on weeks that HE MADE MORE CALLS HE WROTE MORE VOLUME!! I laughed when he told me. You would think that everyone would know this…but it is easy to forget with all the forces and temptations that are pulling on us each day.
Keeping track of our numbers is an important tool. Every professional does it. And…if you make your numbers work for you they will insure you earn a great income. Here is
how you make the numbers work:
1. Never go home
without hitting at least
one of the numbers.
32-10-8-3-$1,500. You can always get 32 calls in!
2. Hit as many of the numbers as possible!
3. Keep working when you hit $1,500! You’re on a roll…so MAX it out!!
With these rules, the numbers will guarantee you a great income! Work the numbers and they will prevent you from abusing the freedom you have as an Independent Contractor. Work the numbers and they will insure that you have the money to afford to take time off in style! Taking time off when you’re broke is never fun. However, working the numbers insures you and your family will have the money to live the life you and your family deserve.
Remember, the best days to sell…are the days you work! Good Selling!
