CONGRATULATIONS FRANK GRENDLER

I would like to extend a very special congratulations to our All Time #1 Producer Frank Grendler on his achievement of $11,750,000 cumulative volume!! What an amazing testimony this is to his talent and more importantly his hard work.

Vice President Dennis Leno “Merry Christmas!

“My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?” – Bob Hope

Vice President Dennis Leno “Back To The Future”

BACK TO THE FUTURE

There was a study recently conducted by a digital marketing company that asked the question, “Do customers want or need to talk to salespeople now that the internet provides so much information on products?” What they found was contrary to what so many were expecting. The results were that 95% of the 200 corporate buyers polled wanted contact with a live human being to help with questions and education on products. Even if they preferred to order online they still wanted the option of human contact and service.

I have to admit that this is no surprise to me. As technology gives us more exciting and faster tools we still have to do the same things we always have done… build strong relationships with our customers. What the internet has allowed us to do, is connect with people quicker, more often, and service our customer base. Which is why I’m so excited about our new website. It promises to enhance our relationships with our customers and expand our business.

“Every great business is built on friendship.” – James Cash Penney

One of the things I have always loved about being a lighting specialist is talking with customers. I love to talk to people! I have learned so many useful and interesting things from our customers. Over the years, they have shared with me their life experiences, hopes, and dreams. What an honor it is to have this opportunity in lighting and friendship!

My experience is not unique. Our most successful lighting specialists have all had that experience. It’s not just the nuts and bolts of lighting that make for a long term relationship. It is the friendship you create and sustain with your customer.

If there is one thing I would tell a new lighting specialist and for that matter anybody starting in business it would be…go out there brighten someone’s day and make a friend!

I have much to be thankful for this year. A wonderful family, good friends, and a good life. But I would like to use this column to extend a special thanks to all of the hardworking people of Maintenance Engineering. When President Kesselring and I started this company over 40 years ago we had no idea where this journey to success would take us. What a wonderful journey it turned out to be!

I am so very thankful for the quality people that have made and continue to make our company one of the leaders in the Lighting Industry! I feel so honored to have worked with so many good people over the years! Your dedication, perseverance, and high standards have helped make this company what it is today! You all are an inspiration!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Vice President Dennis Leno “Your Attitude Is Your Armor.”

As you go through life you will run into negative people. It occurs in all walks of life. Customer Service Reps, Lighting Specialists, Product Service Reps, even Vice Presidents and Presidents experience negative people! Everyone has come across a situation where someone’s bad attitude becomes directed towards them. “Why?” is usually the first question we ask ourselves. Like it’s our fault! Well it’s not!

Almost always the perpetrator of negativity is suffering and lashing out blindly. But that does not mean you need to let it affect you. Your responsibility, is your attitude. Every morning before I leave the house I put on my armor. I literally imagine it surrounding me and deflecting negativity that may come from others. This armor is my attitude. A positive attitude will deflect any negativity that comes your way. When you cultivate a positive attitude you will not take ownership of another person’s negativity.
